EDLE TROPFEN IN NUSS—ENERGY AND EMISSIONS
There are many aspects of life that have an impact on the climate. Manufacturing products consumes energy, and some of this energy comes from fossil fuels. Using these fossil fuels produces the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, or CO2. When emitted into the atmosphere, CO2 amplifies the greenhouse effect, contributing to global warming and climate change. That’s why it is important for us not only to reduce our CO2 emissions, but also to increasingly switch over to renewable sources of energy.
ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND GREEN ELECTRICITY
At our Edle Tropfen in Nuss factories, we work with an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 that helps us regulate and track our energy consumption. Since 2025, these factories have used 100% green electricity (power from renewable sources such as water, wind, and solar) as well as efficient combined heat and power plants.
OUR GOAL: REDUCING EMISSIONS IN MANUFACTURING
Throughout the KRÜGER GROUP, we track our greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol—including all three of its scopes since the 2022 reporting year. The information referenced here applies to our Group-wide greenhouse gas accounting and targets, and not specifically to the carbon footprint or climate neutrality of Edle Tropfen in Nuss as a product.
Our goal is to reduce our footprinted and reported Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to net zero by 2040. Scope 3 emissions are footprinted and reported, but they are not currently included in this net-zero target. We have not yet submitted our climate targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation; this is planned for 2026.
